KUALA LUMPUR: The Department of Federal Territories has identified and monitored several Ramadan bazaars and malls in the federal capital which have been visited by hundreds of Covid-19 positive individuals and close contacts.

His Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the list, which was based on data collected from the Dynamic Engagement Hotspot Identification System (HIDE), will be brought to the National Security Council (NSC) meeting today. ‘hui.

“The Minister of Health (Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba) forwarded the list to me.

“There are shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur that have been visited by 700 people who are close contacts.

“It is dangerous, such places must be disinfected and the SOPs tightened,” he said at a press conference yesterday.

He said any decision to be taken by local authorities would first be consulted with the health ministry.

Annuar said he hopes townspeople will continue to comply with SOPs to ensure the effectiveness of the movement control order enforced here from today through May 20.

“I hope there is no confusion among traders.

“Business operations, including Ramadan bazaars, are permitted and Aidilfitri bazaars can continue depending on the operating time set by NSC.

“If there is any information of HIDE or non-compliance, local authorities can issue a cease-and-desist order,” he said. – Bernama
